This was the first Baking for a Living Course to include elements of Baking for Community training, with topics such as social enterprise and community-supported baking.
Over four very full days of work for the head and the hands, eleven bakers learned from each other as well as from Andrew, always applying the new knowledge and ideas to their planned enterprises.
A rich menu of business ideas and stages were represented; from a talented baker as yet undecided about the viability of selling bread at all to a micro-bakery with a start date in May 2015; from the addition of breadmaking to an existing community food project in Glasgow to wood-fired baking at a private hotel in the Highlands; from the Isle of Mull to the Netherlands.
Here are the bakers: Wendy, Iona, Sian and Chris, Herman, Patrick, Stuart, Janet, Catriona, John and Damian.
